Product Manager

ThinkVine is looking now for a smart, energetic, results-driven Product Manager to help grow our Marketing Mix Optimization software business. In this role, you will be responsible for defining, prioritizing and communicating product benefits and features from market/customer understanding through product development, launch and market feedback. Our customers are major leading B2C marketers in consumer goods, retail, travel, banking & financial services, and telecommunications. Understanding consumer marketing planning, marketing analytics/modeling and software product management is essential for success.

Responsibilities include:

  • Drive new products from concept to delivery and on-going growth/support.  Ensure that new products are clearly differentiated, innovative and deliver high value results to customers.
  • Define and prioritize feature sets with  stories that effectively communicate customer needs.
  • Champion product adoption and usage with internal teams and customers including demonstrating, training, and presenting new software benefits and features. 
  • Communicate widely and effectively about product value, usage and status.
  • Help improve our product management processes to increase innovation, quality and speed to market for our business.
  • Develop deep understanding of our customers, target market and competitive landscape.  Provide timely and accurate analysis of opportunities, applications, use cases, and competitive dynamics.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Engineering teams on innovation value, user experience, design, architecture, technical and schedule tradeoffs and new technologies with technical comfort/fluency.
  • Arm the sales team with concise knowledge of competitive offerings, market landscape, product positioning to assist them in delivering rapid and repeatable sales and renewals.

Skills Needed:

  • Experience in software product management including processes and practices for defining and developing software products using agile methodology.  Requires understanding of key content and technology areas including:
    • SaaS software development and delivery, particularly  database and web technologies.
    • Statistical modeling concepts and applications in a marketing context.
    • Data collection, cleaning, management, analysis and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of consumer marketing planning, analysis, and execution; direct experience with large consumer brands preferred.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to organize information, clearly explain concepts and processes, provide persuasive support for ideas, and effectively demonstrate software.  Strong skills in project management, time management and problem solving along with the ability to seek out information through personal contact and secondary research.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; strong bias towards data-based decision making; ability to synthesize a range of quantitative and qualitative information into concrete, actionable market insights and product requirements.
  • Strong skills in cross-functional collaboration, communication and influence.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of product management experience in software or web-based business.
  • Experience in marketing analytics required;  experience in consumer and/or digital marketing strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to write and present effectively.
  • College graduate with relevant coursework and experience in statistical modeling,  marketing and marketing science/analytics  and computer science.
  • Motivated, energetic, collaborative, results-driven.
